As a world leader in carbon fiber technology and graphite golf shaft innovation for the past two decades the FUBUKI project represents one of a varitey of ongoing technology driven projects currently underway at Mitsubishi Rayon. The FUBUKI project has been in process for nearly two years and has resulted in a variety of prototype structures that are designed to deliver outstanding consistency in launch and back spin while minimizing shaft deformation at impact.
FUBUKI was officially released as a prototype on the PGA TOUR in early 2008 and utilizes a unique patent pending technology developed my Mitsubishi Rayon - Modulus Differential Technology (MDT).
Tour Success

* More than 70 graphite driver shaft wins on the PGA TOUR since 2004
* 12 PGA TOUR driver shaft wins by 8 players in 2008
* Wins with Diamana, Bassara, and FUBUKI in 2008
FUBUKI
* One official 2008 PGA TOUR win
* Multiple FUBUKI Tour Prototypes have been in play at 15 different PGA TOUR events in 2008
* FUBUKI Tour Prototypes used as driver, 3-wood, and 5-wood on the PGA TOUR
FUBUKI Inspiration
The pure pearl white basecoat for the FUBUKI shaft is inspired by the meaning of the word "fubuki" in Japanese - "BLIZZARD". A blizzard or whitecoat is a powerful winter storm condition characterized by heavy blowing snow, strong winds, and low temperatures. In addition, the shafts signature graphical element, the "throwing star" is inspired by traditional weaponry on the Japanese Ninja and has been modified to represent a snowflake. The Japanese word for weapon is "buki".
Key Features
* Modulus Differential Technology (MDT) : Mitsubishi Rayon's latest patent pending technology that utilizes different types of carbon fiber/prepreg materials in select areas to create specific golf shaft performance characteristics
* Tour preferred high launch, low spin performance characteristics for maximum distance and control
* Mitsubishi Rayon's industry leading carbon fiber and resin systems manufacturered to the highest tolerances for precision sporting good applications
* Mitsubishi Rayon's world class ISO9000 certified manufacturing process delivering unmatched product quality and consistency
Modulus Differential Technology (MDT)
Modulus Differential Technology (MDT) incorporates a revolutionary design concept that combines state-of-the-art high modulus material with specialized, more responsive, pitch based fiber in and above the tip section. The resulting allows the different materials to work in concert, promoting enhanced feel and stability throughout the length of the golf shaft. Additionally, MDT offers a significant reduction in golf shaft deformation and lag, which promotes consistent spin reduction and a more repeatable dynamic launch angle.
